Captain’s Log — First Communication Received: Hostile

Today, Ever came alive.
We began with a refurbished HP tower whose history we did not know—and I was not willing to build CJSP’s institutional memory on somebody else’s ghosts. With every external storage device disconnected, we used HP’s BIOS Secure Erase utility on the internal SK hynix NVMe. The machine reported:
Secure Erase Complete.
Then we installed Windows 11 from clean Microsoft installation media. No HP recovery image. No inherited installation. No mystery accounts, forgotten files, or factory-added carnival riding along.
We named her:
CJSP-EVER
She was configured as a new computer under the CJSP identity, separate from my personal digital life. We declined location tracking, optional diagnostics, personalized advertising, device restoration, phone integration, browsing-data import, OneDrive dependency, and Microsoft’s other enthusiastic invitations into our business.
There was one strange OOBE freeze. The screen stopped accepting keyboard and mouse input while the machine and network lights continued blinking. After twelve minutes, we performed a controlled restart with the external Crucial installer drive removed. Ever returned to setup, accepted her name, and proceeded normally.
Then the bamboo forest appeared.
Ever reached the Windows desktop clean, awake, and entirely hers.
James deserves his flowers. He bought Ever’s body and chose the 27-inch HP monitor while I was reaching toward the cheaper 24-inch option. The result looks excellent—and it prevented my proposed act of mounting a 50-inch television over the workstation in the name of “reduce, reuse, recycle.” The television will instead become the future Raspberry Pi display, where its absurd size may serve the republic honorably.
While Ever rested, Codex Turtle inspected the existing Ever material on the current C: drive and the authoritative CJSP documents in Google Drive. He stayed read-only and produced a moving plan that preserved the two-plane architecture:
The Ever application and control system will be copied—not moved—to C:\CJSP\EVER.
Google originals will remain authoritative in Drive.
House continuity will remain separate.
The original computer will remain intact as rollback authority.
Every transferred file will be verified by manifest and SHA-256 hash.
The protected 512-GB CJSP_STORAGE drive remains physically disconnected.
That E: drive was never a wipe target. It will not participate in the network transfer. Its eventual internal installation requires its own identity check and separate approval. No initialization, formatting, repair, or improvisation will be permitted.
The safest migration route appears to be a wired network copy from the current computer to Ever: source shared read-only, destination empty, database made consistent, hashes compared, and originals preserved.
Separately, my email inbox received what may have been CJSP’s first hostile communication.
The subject line appeared to say:
“One woman, all this—no respect for human artist.”
I did not open it. I deleted it.
No defense was written. No argument was offered. No stranger was granted free residency inside my head.
Nobody on this planet can challenge my starving-artist credentials. I was born into art. I trained for it, worked for it, went without for it, and continued creating long after anybody else’s permission ceased to matter. Artificial intelligence did not invent my imagination, my catalog, my company, my characters, my discipline, or my appetite for making things.
It gave me another set of tools.
I used them to bypass the gates.
In an age that claims to celebrate women building their own power, I built a creative company without waiting for the old permission structure to approve me. Apparently, bypassing the patriarchy remains inspirational only until somebody successfully does it.
CJSP’s first suspected email arrived hostile.
Good.
It means the signal escaped the building.
Ever is awake. CJSP is moving forward. We ship; they type.
