Captain’s Log — Scars of Use Has Launched
Vessel: The House
Status: Underway
Release: Cyber Folk — Scars of Use
Today, Cyber Folk’s Scars of Use left the House and entered the world.
The record began before it had a title. It began beneath the roof of the Udvar-Hazy Center, standing in front of Space Shuttle Discovery.
From a distance, history gets polished.
In person, Discovery is marked. The heat tiles do not match. The surface carries the evidence of every mission. Nothing about her return looks untouched.
That was the signal.
Use leaves evidence. Heat leaves evidence. Distance leaves evidence. Coming home is not the same as coming back unchanged.
Then came the restoration hangar: wings apart, tools out, scaffolds in place, and hands doing the slow work of preservation.
Repair did not erase the machine’s history.
Repair gave that history a way to continue.
Cyber Folk carried both truths into this record:
What survives will show the journey.
What is cared for can keep going.
Today, twelve tracks crossed from the repair bay into the signal. The direct edition carries the music together with the visual provenance that gave the record its first pulse.
This is not a record about broken things.
It is a record about returned things.
There is a difference.
The House is underway. Scars of Use is outside the hull now. It has its orders:
Carry the evidence.
Honor the repair.
Come home marked.
End transmission.
